Day 4: Taipei – Chiufen – Shihlin

Day 4: Taipei – Chiufen – Shihlin
We woke up slightly earlier as we were heading to Chiufen. Before we headed to Chiufen, we went around looking for banks. As our pockets were totally empty. Haha! We did not change that much actually. Or rather I said I did not change any money at all. Cause I have worth of hundreds of Taiwan dollars left (Earn from my previous tour leading) And the most pathetic thing was we only brought $100 Sing Dollars! Omg! This is our first time bringing so little money cause we thought that we should have enough. We both had almost $1000 yet it was still not enough! Totally did not expect. In the end, we managed to withdraw some cash from the ATM Machines. HAHA! Save our day seriously.

Before we headed to Chiufen, we headed to 维格饼家 first to get some goodies as his mum loves their Taiyang Biscuits. Oh. If you are staying around Xi Men Ting, you can go to this store. It is just beside the exit.
Location: 台北市中正區衡陽路105號
Opening Hours: 1000AM to 2100PM
Nearest MRT: Xi Men MRT Exit 4

Carrying all the "balang balang" and Next, chiufen.
How to go: From Xi Men MRT, take to Taipei Main Station (台北车站), then to Ruifang (瑞芳) OR Zhong Xiao Fu Xing MRT Exit 1, Take But 1062 (台北-金瓜石) About 90 mins to Jiufen

When we reached Taipei Main Station (台北车站), we were trying to get the tickets. Phew! It was so hard. In the end, we got the person to help us to get instead.

Seriously we really catch no balls with this machines and the person managed to help us to get the tickets from another machine (So much easier compare to this!). After we got our tickets, we went in to our platform. Be sure which platform that you have to take and lastly DO NOT MISS THE TIME! The ticket costs 76NT ($3.26) each.

Finally we reached Ruifang.

Heading this way to take the Bus.

Here is the bus stop. You can wait for the bus here. Actually there were quite a number of buses that went to Chiufen. Bascially if the bus stated “金瓜石”, you can actually board the bus. If you are unsure, you may ask the bus captain. They are more than willing to help you out =)

On our way to Chiufen! It was about 15-20 minutes of bus ride.

Surprisingly it was not that cold as I thought. And I am still wearing that thick. O.O

Seriously, I have been here so many times yet I never really walked the whole stretch of Jiufen before. It was an experience :D

The famous Taro Balls! Heard that it is already in Singapore? Hurray!

Initally we wanted to go to shifen, but due to the number of things that we were carrying we decided to head back to hotel first. Too heavy already! Lol.
Jiufen – Ruifang
You can board the bus at the opposite direction of the 7-11. The bus stop is located at the “hill”. We did not wait for the bus because the queue was ridiculously long! In the end, we took cab to Ruifang which cost us about 180NT ($7.70).

Back to Ruifang station, again, we were trying to buy the tickets back using this machines again!
Super pekcek cause we really didn't know how to use it. Damn noob I know! In the end we managed to get someone who helped us to buy. HAHA! Thank you, strangers!

They were actually performing at the underground. Beautiful music. Couldn't help but to stop and listened to them then donated some money. =) They are so young and innocent.

Back to our hotel first and then headed out again for food!
YUMMY!

After that we headed to Shihlin Night Market again because the other day we only managed to walk one section...

Gosh! 阿宗面线! Damn yummy! I seriously want to import this to Singapore! Actually you can see that we kept eating. Lol! Non-stop!
While we were at Shihlin Night Market, we managed to witness the illegal owners being chased by the police. Gosh! And it was like right in front of us! Damn kelian. I was telling him that they were so xinku cos they have to always look out for police before they started to arrange their goods on the floor to sell. What a tough job. Sigh.

Another round of shopping has ended. And that’s me doing crazy stuff again.

Managed to get this for Qien. She was so happy about it. It was so tough of me as her Ahyi. Because she always like those very-hard-to-find character yet expensive cartoon character. HAHA! But I still managed to find it each time and got it for her. =)

Day 5: Taipei – Singapore
Woke up early and check out. Say goodbye to Swiio Hotel!

While waiting for our transfer from my Taiwan friend. Initially I thought that he will be getting his staff to send us to Airport instead. In the end, he came down personally to send me off. Omg! Damn paiseh!

We got 25kg of luggage! Our hearts were pumping so hard while we were trying to load our luggage to check in. And... we saw this!
Muahaha! We totally burst out laughing! Super heng ah!

Last photo of us before we flew back to Singapore. Taiwan, we will be back. VERY SOON! Love you! Lol.

For this trip, there were lots of regrets. Regretted we came for only 5 Days, regretted we did not manage to go to the Jay chou’s restaurant as planned because time was too constraint, regretted that we did not manage to go shifen for lantern, regretted that I did not manage to inform my another Taiwan friend about my arrival else I could have visit him in Hualien. I called him when I was in the airport, making my way to Taiwan. In the end, he scolded me for not informing him as he could have bring me around in Hualien. Haha! He wanted me to cancel one night in Taipei, I tried but I couldn’t. Such a pity as he had already arranged the room for me. Damn paiseh. He told me about his theme café and hotel in Hualien. I will sure visit there one day! =)

Seriously, can’t wait to go back there again.

Check out the rest of the post (If you have missed it)
